About EMAN

Emerging Markets Angel Network (“EMAN”) is a community of passionate founders, investors, operators and ecosystem enablers. We are unified by our shared mission to unearth and nurture high potential tech startups in MENA and LATAM that will become the next regional and global leaders.

We founded EMAN for a simple reason. Emerging Markets are bursting with talent and opportunity. However, unlike San Francisco, New York or London, the local ecosystems are woefully underdeveloped. EMAN will provide not only capital but also guidance through the journey ahead by leveraging the passion, experience and contacts of our network. We pay it forward and succeed together.

EMAN brings a global perspective to local problems. We only invest in local markets where we have on the ground expertise via our local leadership teams. With truly local insights we identify structural problems and the founders who are best able to solve them.

Our community is our greatest strength. EMAN’s members encompass a diverse group ranging from founders and experienced early stage investors to product managers and software engineers that may well become early employees of our portfolio companies. Our low minimum investment and complete freedom to select the deals you want to invest in creates greater opportunities for everyone involved.

We take calculated risks. EMAN is sector agnostic and focused purely on early stage technology startups in emerging markets. This means our focus is on the team and the problem. Traction is great but if we believe this is the right team to solve a big problem, we will invest anywhere from an MVP through to proven product market fit with rapidly growing revenues. In either case, EMAN will leverage its capital and community to help startups reach their potential.

EMAN’s member mission is to provide exciting opportunities to obtain outstanding financial returns by investing in early-stage companies and the ability to contribute to their growth by sharing expertise and experiences.
